1Does the roof cleaning contractor have the proper insurance to perform the task on my property?
Heat Wave Pressure Washing is licensed and carries full roof (class) cleaning insurance up to six (6) stories. Pressure Washing insurance does not cover roof cleaning under its policy. Also make sure the contractor can clean multiple stories many policies only cover one (1) story.
2Is the cleaning solution that is sprayed on the roof effect my surrounding plants?
Unfortunately, yes … the cleaning solution is designed to break down the organic algae on the roof to permanently remove. However Heat Wave Pressure Washing take special precautions to protect you surrounding vegetation. Heat Wave Pressure Washing not only keeps the surrounding vegetation watered and covered during the cleaning process, we also apply a neutralizing solution to help balance the PH of the Sodium Hypochlorite. Also if gutters are present on the home Heat Wave Pressure Washing install gutter tube collecting bags at the end on each gutter spout to collect over flow of cleaning solution.
3What are the benefits of cleaning my roof?
The main reason to clean your homes roof is to preserve the longevity. Replacing your homes roof is a huge expense that no homeowner looks forward too. When black algae or also known as Gloeocapsa Magma, begins to take over your roof’s surface it begins to attach its root system to either the pores of your tile roof or wrap around the granules of your shingle roof, weakening the fibers and granules, shortening your roofs life. Another reason you should have your home’s roof cleaned it will help reduce your electric cost. When the black algae over runs your roof’s surface it will darken your roof surface and absorb the suns heat causing your homes interior temperature to increase drastically, causing your air conditions to work harder to keep your home cool.
